On July 29, 2009, Lee County Commissioners voted to approve the 8-acre tract in the Oakland Plantation development on U.S. Highway 82, directly across from the Lutheran Church of Our Savior at Hickory Grove Road.
Four million dollars in funding for the library has already been approved: $2 million in Special-Purpose Local-Option Sales Tax V funds OK'd by county voters and $2 million in bonds from the state's Fiscal Year 2010 budget greenlit by the state General Assembly. More information will be coming soon.
