Part-time, $12.92 per hour, 18 hours per week

Lee County Library is accepting applications for a part-time Library Assistant. Applicants should be self-motivated, professional, and community-oriented individuals dedicated to customer service. Library Assistants provide assistance and information related to library services, technology, procedures, and more. 
Work hours include, but are not limited to nights and weekends.

• Online searching skills
• Working knowledge of computers, Google Apps and Microsoft Office Applications
• Technical knowledge of and skills to operate phone, computer systems and standard business equipment
• Capability to work collaboratively and as a team player with colleagues
• Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and follow through in a timely manner
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb
• Physical ability to exert up to 35 pounds of force
• High School Diploma or GED, or the ability to hold within 6 months
• Flexibility to work at all Lee County Library locations - (Information on locations/hours can be found here.)

 Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Circulation and reference tasks including checking in and out books and other materials
• Readers’ advisory
• Demonstrating and assisting with library resources and databases for the public
• Basic housekeeping including light cleaning
• Sorting and shelving materials
• Assisting patrons in use of technology and electronic equipment
• Customer service tasks including answering phones
• Program assistance
