Vendor Questions and Clarifications
1. Static IP Addresses – how many are needed?
We need 1 per branch/location. If possible, we want some additional addresses per branch to future proof network changes. Those extra IPs would need to be a line item that we can either accept or decline.
2. CIPA compliant content filtering – please clarify this requirement. Does Lee County Library have a firewall at each location? Are you asking for firewall with CIPA compliant content filtering capabilities? Or, is this to augment an existing firewall? Is this specific to DNS filtering?
Our current setup at each branch has a Dell Sonicwall that provides a content filtering service. We have existing firewalls in place and the Sonicwalls supplement/augment those firewalls with the filtering service. If you can provide a content filtering service so we can maintain CIPA compliance we would like a bid on that. It is my understanding that content filtering is not E-Rate eligible so it needs to be a line item (seperated from eligible E-Rate services) in the bid.
3. Can you please tell me if Lee County Library will remain under contract through 2022 with current internet provider? I know the RFP was released, but the Form 471 shows under contract for one more year.
The contract is still valid until June 30, 2021 at which point we have one optional renewal left. We have one optional renewal remaining but do not have to use it. We are looking to enter a new contract starting July 1, 2021.
4. Is Lee County Library looking to only move forward with an internet provider that can provide service to all four sites, or willing to allow different internet providers for different sites?
We look forward to any bids we receive. While the bid matrix will deduct points for not being able to service all locations, this will not preclude you from submitting a bid.
